Evil Nerds Must Be Destroyed.

I have just spent my day trying to recover my computer... running Vista.. of all things from a sodding virus. For your notes it was the Bagel virus with the identifier SROSA.SYS along with some other treats. My attack consisted of Malwarebot which managed to run whilst all other software seemed too coward to even try, I'm looking at you Norton. It couldn't however complete the deletion of the relevant files. I used IceSword to get to the relevant files manually using the locations listed in Malwarebot and deleted every trace of the virus. This however only served to piss it off and it duplicated many times until eventually i was left with just nuking every trace and then performing a "Full Destructive Recovery" of Vista, thus loosing all my files and going back to the drawing board. The good news is that the virus is now gone, the bad news is I lost a few valuable bits and pieces but that's ok. I just want to say that whoever made that virus is a super clever uber pointless mega shit. GET A LIFE. That is a cliche yet never more relevant statement. Also all you anti virus companies and Microsoft please get your act together and STOP these disabling viruses that make all of your best software incable of doing anything NOW.
















Aside from all of the viral fun Me and My Nerd have had a quiet day on the GoSpecific front. I would like to take a moment to say that My Nerd is a friendly nerd who uses it's knowledge of computers to make life better. If only every nerd were the same.
